Marjorie Brown

Marjorie Brown is the founding attorney and a current partner at Elder Law & Estate Planning Solutions of the Piedmont, where she is recognized as the only attorney in Cabarrus County certified as a Specialist in Elder Law by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Specialization. She is also nationally recognized as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation.
With decades of experience, Marjorie provides compassionate guidance in elder law, estate planning, and estate administration, helping families across the Piedmont region prepare for life’s most challenging transitions. She advises clients on asset protection strategies, Medicaid planning, and the unique legal concerns that arise with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and long-term care needs—ensuring that families achieve peace of mind and security for the future.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law (1994), Marjorie began her career in nonprofit law, mental health practitioners’ law, and as in-house counsel for a nonprofit trade association before dedicating herself to elder law. Her professional affiliations include the North Carolina State Bar, Cabarrus County Bar Association, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, North Carolina Guardianship Association, and American Bar Association. She is also a member of the North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society (2017, 2019).
Deeply passionate about protecting the rights and dignity of older adults, Marjorie serves on several boards and committees, including Cabarrus County Task Force for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and Coltrane LIFE Center, Inc. She is also committed to youth education and leadership, serving as a Girl Scout Leader since 2003 and contributing to the Cabarrus County Schools Budget Committee (2013–2019).
Outside of her legal practice, Marjorie is a dedicated wife and mother of two, which gives her a personal understanding of the importance of preparing for the future through thoughtful estate planning.
